Not Dead...... Yet.

Wed Nov 18, 2009, 8:09 AM
  • Mood: Depressed
  • Listening to: Nightwish - 7 Days To The Wolves
  • Watching: Stargate Universe
  • Playing: I would *like* to be playng a crack in time.
I'm still hanging around on DA, not really doing much anything anyway, mainly been studying for exams like most other people.

New series of Stargate came out, so that's pretty awesome.

For the most part though, I've been feeling very irritated and depressed lately, no clue why, just having a sad spell.

I'm guessing it has something to do with my life being quite boring.

Still haven't had found a signifigant other yet, I told myself a gave that up a long time ago, but now i've actually given up on it, Mrs. perfect is never going to show up.

Nothing really else to say, just otherwise been sitting in my room feeling sorry for myself I guess, I signed on for a course in computer programming, so I can learn even more anti-social skills I suppose.

Could be moving back to where I lived last year, but that's even more depressing, because most of my old friends have turned into dicks, and my old potential Mrs. Perfect has found someone else.

I guess I'm not the person to come to if you want cheering up huh?

You know a show has gone to hell when, you search google images for the name of a main character and, 7 of the 20 pictures that show up by default are NOT porn................. and even then only 2 of them are not "suggestive"

Hey, do you know if you can export your models to .x? My 3D library is being gay and is only accepting X. It listed .3DS, and I found plenty of models, but whenever I tried to load one up in my games they just froze up on me.

IDK atm, ill check in a little bit as 3dsmax barely works on my laptop, (no one said anything about it needing 1gb of ram to actually start in 20 minutes O.o)

It's really simple: a ball. Nothing too special, but basically a metallic ball. I can't even find any ball models in .X. That's sad. :|

Isn't .x a standard DirectX format? I remember FPS creator used .x files

I use DarkGDK, which is by the same guys that made the FPS Creator. So yeah, it runs on DirectX (DirectX 9 and Direct3D 9). Which is why I have to make the model for the entire world in a .x file. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to make this work without lagging everything to death. :/

I'm using a 512x512 heightmap, which I KNOW will be extremely laggy... well... maybe not. Heightmaps have to be calculated manually, and each vertice isn't predefined at any point, and smoothing is also done manually. Loading this from a .x will have all vertices predefined, so it should run faster.
